The Kentucky Oysters

The Kentucky Oysters Blues Band started as a band to perform for blues dancers, a growing
offshoot of the swing dance community. We successfully played two blues dance camps and then
started a regular blues dance night at the Cotton Club, Hamburg. While this is growing in popularity
the band also is booking very well as a ‘normal’ blues band.
This band features Ukranian musicians Jean Yanochkin, Philip Yanochkin and Bem who were the
house band of the Ukrainian Voice TV Show, Hendrik Südhaus, ‘the big harmonica man’, german
born and an entertainment dynamo and NYC expat Steve Wiseman, blues grammy nominated
trumpet player.
